Town with Mr Fennel and Mrs Smith! and one angry goose! :)

We were given digital cameras and taken to the 'garment district' near Piccadilly in Manchester. Our task was to capture around 10 shots around the area, focusing on various angles, framing and composition. Our group walked around and took pictures of things we found interesting, for Kash, a car. ;) James encountered an evil goose on his travels while we were taking pitcures and gemma framed the goose in one of our shots. This was useful in helping us develop an understanding of why you need to frame your shots and we can apply this when filming our main task.

Mr Lewis' lesson

Today we went through the rule of thirds and framing, Went over continuity and saw a good example of these in a small video clip. Got given cameras and our own tape for our group. We went out around college, to experiment and start filming our preliminary task. We decided to base our task on an interview, so that we could use various techniques such as shot reverse shot. We filmed different shots of James walking up the stairs and entering through a door into an " interview room" which was actually a corridor. Gemma and Gabi ( the novices) got used to the feel of the camera and how to work the tripod. Kash and James made the film humerous with their conversation about pringles and Kashs' mention of 'biography' instead of CV!

Today we discussed ideas for our production.
We don't have a final idea yet, But we are close to deciding on one.

• First idea: Comically exaggerated stereotypes of a group of people from different clicks.
• Second Idea: Secret agents being called out to do a mission.
• Final Idea: A murderer captures and kills a couple of friends, Returning home from a night out.
